The Ostsee-Kontor GmbH was founded in 1990and is a company of independent marine and cargo surveyors, consultants and average experts with the office at Rostock. There are several partner companies in Poland the Baltic States as well as in Russia. Surveys can be handled in Poland, the Baltic States, Russia and further former GUS States, in Turkey and China. The staff personnel consists of permanently employed  and freelance experts, what guarantees a wide ranging spectrum of activities and a higher flexibility and motivation of personnel. In close co-operation with various other specialised expert companies, engineers and surveyors the Ostsee-Kontor is able to offer and render a wide range of various services in marine and non-marine fields, such as  material analysis, building expertise - for example at port- and quay constructions and various other objects. The broadness and variety of Ostsee-Kontor activities is characterised by the variety of customers and speciality of various orders. Capt. H. Wilcke, Managing Director of Ostsee-Kontor and Capt. S. Kamradt are nautical inspectors for Flag State Inspections on behalf of Liberia, Marshall Islands, and Antigua & Barbuda.   Ostsee-Kontor offices are equipped with contemporary and advanced  means of communication,  modern electronic and computer facilities, recording and measuring facilities as wells as laser techniques for measuring works. ein.
	Accredits
Ostsee-Kontor is accredited to Hanseatic Marine Underwriters Association at Hamburg and Bremen (VHT e.V.). Several Ostsee-Kontor staff surveyors are active members of the Association of Marine Surveyors of Federal State Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (Verband Mecklenburgisch-Vorpommerscher Schiffahrtssachverständiger e.V.). Capt. S.Kamradt is an active member of Carefully to Carry Committee in London, an association  founded by and within UK P & I Club in London. Ostsee-Kontor is registered with Rostock District Court under the commercial register no. 1298.
	Quality Management
Among others, following primary quality management system components are being applied by Ostsee-Kontor:   Documents administration/management All documents, reports, drawings and paper work in general are arranged in an orderly and clearly defined registration system. All documents and reports are registered under a special reference number which depends a kind of work to be done (e.g. surveying, consulting, marine engineering a.s.o.). This reference number is given for all paper- and electronic documents. Compiling and approval of documents Depending on the kind of work to be done and clients´ special requirements and wishes, a 3-step compiling and approval procedure of various documents (certificates, stability calculations, drawings a.s.o.) can be carried out. This internal approval does not depend on any external approvals (e.g. approval of stability calculations done by a classification society). Using of rules and regulations In all working fields valid rules and regulations are followed up and considered such rules of IMO-Codes, regulations of classification societies, or regulations of mariners´ associations. Integration and verification of partner companies The variety of Ostsee-Kontor´s  activities and working fields requires and makes necessary an integration of various other specialised expert companies such as divers, material and geological analysers and many others.  A just as high engagement in all activities is expected from these partner companies as from Ostsee-Kontor themselves, in respect of the high quality standards, which are partly being verified by Ostsee-Kontor or authorisations / certificates required from partner companies.
